Pinterest Project #2: Banana Nut Muffins

Yesterday, I had a dental cleaning appointment for early in the morning.  My granddaughters had spent the night with me and were still sleeping when it was nearly time to leave.  Long story short, I was able to reschedule for later in the afternoon and appreciated the extra time so much I made the staff some banana nut muffins from www.allrecipes.com site, which I hope were good!  I remembered a cute way to "gift" cupcakes from a Pinterest pin and used it for my muffins...just made them sweeter, I'm sure.  My idea came from one that looked like this, but I forgot to buy the cups to put them into the bag.

So, I was desperate flexible and just shoved mine into the bottom of the clear bags and adjusted them to sit up-right. I felt pleased with the final product and all the staff at the Summit Dental seemed appropriately thankful!

Pinterest Project #1: Painted Mason Jars

Well, I actually completed my first Pinterest Project a few weeks ago, using the simplest craft idea I could find in my recent pins.  I chose to paint the inside of Mason jars to use as vases for silk flowers.  (They cannot be used with water unless you have a smaller vase to fit inside the jar.)  My daughter was impressed enough to borrow my paints and foam brushes so she, too, could have an easy project to brighten areas of her home.  The pin I copied looked like this:

Mine are pictured below.  The one on the left is for my sun room and the one on the right for my bedroom.  I love how the embossing on the outside of the jars "pops" from the paint on the inside.  Super cute and VERY easy!

Howdy!  My name is Beth and I'm a recent Pinterest addict.  I've decided that the best recovery needs to consist in more than just pinning, and therefore, I'm about to take a journey through my pins and actually create, test, or discard some of my favorite ones.   Since I am a whiz klutz in the creative center of my brain, I need all the help I can get, hence, studying others' ideas. I've become obsessed with the creative blogs I've been reading and following the past few months as I linked to blog after blog, via Pinterest. Since I'm venturing out in such a foreign field of crafting (for me, that is), I decided... why not share my successes and/or failures for the world to enjoy?  I do feel fairly confident in my cooking and baking finesse, so on regular occasions I'll take on a few of the ideas I've borrowed stolen from others pins and posts.  Mostly, I'm creating this blog for my own benefit to use as future reference and as a journal of my fun, or disaster, which ever the case may be. I know absolutely NOTHING about HTML and my lack of creativity extends to my probable blog posting.  Suggestions?  I welcome them!  Just understand, I may not comprehend much beyond cut and paste.  If you happen to follow my pins and really want me to test or try one for my journey, just leave me a comment or message.  I'll see what I can do.
